PETA Charges Lacoste With Using Inhumanely Sourced Duck Down

Peta DucksPETA Australia has charged Lacoste and other brands of using inhumanely sourced down feathers from Vietnam. According to PETA Australia:

Investigative footage of Vietnam’s down industry shows a worker stabbing conscious ducks in the neck and workers cutting the legs off live, struggling birds. Their feathers were later sold to brands as “responsibly sourced”. Companies like H&M, Gap Inc, Lacoste, and Guess were all identified as recipients of down from the RDS-certified suppliers investigated by PETA Asia, and all obtain feathers from Vietnam.

You can see some pretty graphic video of the animal abuse on the PETA site. Previously, Lacoste was accused of using inhumanely sourced mohair, but agreed to stop using it. We can expect the same to happen with down feathers.

Lacoste And Goop Release A Royal Tenenbaum’s Inspired Collaboration

Lacoste and Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop brand have released a collaboration inspired by Paltrow’s Royal Tenenbaum’s character Margot Tenenbaum’s striped Lacoste dress. Refinery 29 writes:

If you ever wondered what Gwyneth Paltrow’s Royal Tenenbaums character, Margot Tenenbaum, would wear today, you’re in luck. The actor’s lifestyle brand, Goop, and sports-inspired fashion label Lacoste have partnered for a collection referencing the Wes Andersonfilm.
On Tuesday, the two announced a collaboration, which includes a range of styles paying tribute to the Lacoste striped polo dress famously worn by Paltrow in the 2001 comedy. The result is a capsule that combines tenniscore and preppy aesthetics. In addition to featuring a frock similar to Paltrow’s film look, the line includes a retro-inspired jumpsuit with puffed sleeves, a knit polo set, and court-ready mini skirts.

The collection is available online, at select Goop stores and at flagship Lacoste locations.

Samsung and Lacoste Collaborate on Flip Phone Cases

Lacoste and Samsung have collaborated to create an eco-friendly, Lacoste branded case for the Samsung Galaxy Flip 4. Sammobile has the details:

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is one of the most fashionable smartphones created in recent times, and it provides an opportunity for Samsung to collaborate with different fashion brands. After revealing the Maison Margiela Edition, the company has now announced the launch of four new protective cases for the Galaxy Z Flip 4, created in an exclusive partnership with Lacoste.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 cases by Lacoste are available in four colors: Graphite, Blue, Lavender, and Rose Gold. The cases carry a subtle yet recognizable Lacoste crocodile logo. They were made from recycled materials, and the same goes for their packaging, which was made entirely from recycled cardboard, vegetable ink, and vegetable glue.
